Pakistan court Takes Hafiz Saeed’s plea to Team all terror-financing Instances

An anti-terrorism courtroom in Pakistan on Tuesday accepted a plea of Mumbai attack mastermind and Jamat-ud-Dawa leader (JuD) Hafiz Saeed to team each of six terror-financing cases against him and his aides, also declare that the verdict completion of the trial.

The anti-terrorism courtroom or ATC had whined Saeed and others on December 11 at terror-financing situation in daily hearing.

“The anti-terrorism court of Lahore admitted the plea of Saeed and his close aides searching delay at the verdict in 2 reasoned terror-financing instances against them until the trial in additional four these pending cases is finished,” a court official told PTI after the hearing.

Deputy Prosecutor General Abdul Rauf Wattoo advised the Dawn TV that some six instances against Saeed and many others are pending before the exact same court and presentation of proof in staying four instances is in advance.

The Counter Terrorism Department had enrolled 23 FIRs against Saeed and his accomplices on the costs of terror-financing in various towns of Punjab province and arrested him July 17.

The cases have been registered from Saeed and many others in Lahore, Gujranwala and Multan for collection of funds for terrorism funding through assets/properties created and held at the titles of Trusts/Non Profit Organisations such as Al-Anfaal Trust, Dawatul Irshad Trust, Muaz Bin Jabal Trust, etc.

In accordance with the CTD, analysis launched into funding issues of proscribed businesses — JuD and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) — in connection with execution of UN Sanctions against those Designated Entities and Persons according to National Security Committee (NSC) in its meeting of January 1, 2019 chaired by Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan for implementing the National Action Plan.

“These suspects created assets from capital of terror-financing. They used and held these resources to raise more money for additional terror-financing. They’ll be prosecuted in Anti Terrorism Courts for commission of those offences,” that the CTD explained.

Saeed-led JuD is thought to be the leading organisation to the LeT that’s accountable for carrying out the 2008 Mumbai assault that murdered 166 individuals, including six Americans.

The U.S. Department of the Treasury has given Saeed as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist and the U.S., as 2012, has provided a USD 10 million reward for information which brings Saeed into justice.
