“The UN Green Climate Fund (GCF) has declared $752,000 in financing for North Korea to assist Pyongyang manage climate change, signaling the very first funding project by the finance for its reclusive nation” a press report said.
The finance may help North Korea enhance its”willingness” to tackle climate change, Yonhap News Agency stated in the report on Friday mentioning the GCF as stating.
Yannick Glemarec, executive manager of the GCF, told Yonhap News Agency that North Korea can get conditional funding for low-emission, climate – resilient improvement.
“(North Korea) is qualified to GCF support given it satisfies all of the social and environmental safeguards for its job with (the) GCF”, he explained.
In January, North Korea enrolled a nationwide designated authority because of its communication station with all the GCF.
Launched in 2010, the GCF intends to channel cash from Nordic countries to developing nations to assist them tackle climate change- related issues.
