Budget 2020: Budget session of Parliament could begin from Jan 31

NEW DELHI: The government is considering convening the Budget session of Parliament from January 31 along with the Union funding is very likely to be shown on February 1, sources said.

The closing dates will be advised by the authorities following the Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs (CCPA) advocates the dates to the session. A meeting of the CCPA, that will be led by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, is very likely to be held shortly and the recommendations will be made afterwards.

The funding session begins with President Ram Nath Kovind’s speech to the joint sitting of Parliament and the Economic Survey is very likely to be shown on precisely the exact same afternoon, the sources added.

The semester is very likely to last until April, they said.

The funding session normally has a break of about a month where the section associated standing committees discusses the requirement for grants.
