Pakistan on Monday said its national nuclear security program was at par with global standards and guidelines.
The (atomic security) regime relies on a comprehensive legislative and regulatory framework governing the safety of nuclear materials, radioactive compounds, related activities and facilities, said FO.
It stated the safety regime has been endorsed by powerful institutions and organisations together with the required government, resources and trained labour for successful execution.
It stated that in the event of this next ICONS, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has released a leaflet on Pakistan’s Atomic Safety Regime. Copies of the booklet have been distributed among the participants of their ICONS.
The FO said this measure was a part of Pakistan’s clinic to discuss information about the steps taken to further strengthen nuclear security and also to demonstrate the high level focus that atomic security continues to get in Pakistan.
