A Thai soldier that went on a rampage at a northeastern town which ended in a standoff at a crowded shopping mall murdered 26 individuals and injured at least 52, Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha stated on Sunday.

The soldier had been prompted by a grudge over a land deal in which he believed he was cheated, stated Prayuth, who flew into the nearby city of Nakhon Ratchasima to see territorial lands.

The soldier had been murdered by armed forces following an overnight siege in the Terminal 21 shopping center in town.

Acute bushfires burnt through portions of Western Australia on Sunday, along with different regions of the country addressing the aftermath of a strong cyclone, although the nation’s east shore was facing possible life threatening flash flood.

Following months of damaging wildfires which have razed countless hectares of property, Australia has been struck in recent months by wild weather which has brought heavy downpours, hail storms, gusty winds and warm and humid atmosphere.

Approximately a dozen fires have been burning in Western Australia on Sunday, together with intense fire danger anticipated in many districts, based on fire services and the nation’s Bureau of Meteorology.

Daytime temperatures in a number of the districts were forecast in around 42 degrees Celsius.

The State’s upper portions were fighting Sunday the aftermath of a tropical cyclone Damien which left a landfall on Saturday afternoon, bringing gusty winds up to 200 mph.
