Strikes murdered over 30 civilians at a mountainous northern Yemeni province on Saturday, the U.N. humanitarian chief for the nation said, calling the attack”shocking”

A Pakistani court on Saturday ordered the launch of a Pashtun rights leader critical of the army, his attorney said, months later he was arrested on sedition charges.

Manzoor Pashteen, leader of the Pashtun Protection Movement (PTM), was detained last month on charges of sedition, hate speech, incitement from the nation, and criminal conspiracy.

His attorney Saeed Akhtar told AFP he had been bailed on three to five complaints .

“Now the court has granted him bail in the rest , contrary to surety bonds of a hundred million rupees ($650) each,” Mr. Akhtar said.

He added he expected Mr. Pashteen could be released from prison on Saturday. A government prosecutor also affirmed the bond.

Mr. Pashteen, a former pupil, and also the PTM have rattled Pakistan’s army since 2018 with forecasts to finish alleged abuses by security forces targeting ethnic Pashtuns from the restive tribal regions along the border with Afghanistan.
